We are not sure if the recent bad weather is to blame but the number of enquiries for summer family holidays has suddenly increased dramatically.

If you want some guaranteed sun why not head out to Turkey out of peak season? You will find the days sunny and evenings warm. For example this week in Orhaniye was 25C which is a great temperature allowing you to walk and explore the area.

For those of you who like an active holiday the walking around the local hills is fabulous with plenty of wildlife including golden eagles in the hills surrounding our villas. You can also ride a horse at the local Dortnal ranch or learn to scuba dive at one of the local PADI centres.

Whatever you want to do it is more fun to do it when it is not too hot.

Our team have finally completed the last stage of our private water system linking up our villas.

We have laid over 500 metres of pipe under the lanes between our villas so that now we can pump water from our wells to the villas when water is scarce on the Bozburun Peninsula.

As well as installing the pipes we have added water tanks to hold 16,000 litres of backup water for our guests.

We can invested in this private system so our guests can have uninterrupted water supplies in the summer when the village supply can be erratic. Scarce water supplies during the summer months are unfortunately a common feature in most of the villages along the Bozburun Peninsula.

We are just back from our first pre-season trip to Orhaniye to get our villas ready for our 2012 season guests.

Our maintenance company and pool company have been very busy over the recent weeks to get the villas ready for our inspection trip.

Villa Nurtan:
We  have built a new stone  ’water house’ in the garden that houses 7000 litres of backup water. We have also moved the compressor and water softner unit away from the garage and installed them in this new water house.

The pool has been completely upgraded with a new main pump. new sand filter system and the whole pool has been grouted.

All the wood work has been varnished in the house and all the external walls have been re-painted.

All the veranda wood work has been varnished in the house and all the external walls have been re-painted.

Orhaniye like all the other villages on the Bozburun can sometimes suffer from an erratic water supply in the summer when peak demand for water often exceeds that available from the village supply. Some villages like Selimiye actually cut off the water supply during the day in summer so it can be a real challenge for visitors to the Peninsula.

To provide the best possible infrastructure to Luxury Villas Turkey guests we have been building a private water supply system for our villas over the last 12 months and it is due to be completed in time for our 2012 season guests. It has been a big project linking up three villas by laying over 700 metres of private water mains. Now two private wells pump water into our new water system with nearly 15,000 litres of backup tanks. This system is used to provide independence from the local village water supply and is a second level of redundancy against village water failures.

Certainly when you live in rural Turkey  you never take for granted your water supply like we do in the UK!
